Experience Argentina: Tango, Wine Country & The Andes
March 7th - March 16th (10 Day Trip)
Overview
Argentina is a country of grand contrasts, where tango-filled city nights, painted Andean mountains, vast white salt flats, and world-class wine country come together in one unforgettable journey. This ten-day, nine-night experience takes guests from the elegance and energy of Buenos Aires to the ancestral landscapes of Jujuy, the surreal expanse of Salinas Grandes, and the vineyard-lined foothills of Mendoza. Along the way, you’ll experience tango from the inside, taste regional flavors, meet passionate producers, share a traditional mountain asado, and discover a country that reveals itself through culture, food, landscape, and human connection.
Trip Summary
Argentina first captured my curiosity more than 15 years ago, and every time I’ve returned, I’ve discovered another side of the country that pulled me in even deeper.
This journey begins in Buenos Aires, where elegant architecture, neighborhood cafés, tango culture, and late-night energy make the city unlike anywhere else in South America. We’ll experience tango not just as a performance, but where it truly lives — inside traditional milongas where locals gather to dance.
From there, we head north into Jujuy, the Quebrada de Humahuaca, and Salinas Grandes, one of the most visually striking regions in Argentina. Here, colorful mountains, high-altitude deserts, centuries-old villages, altitude wines, local markets, and one of the world’s largest salt flats create landscapes that honestly feel surreal.

And then Mendoza, one of the Great Wine Capitals of the world, surrounded by vineyards and the Andes Mountains. Along the way, we’ll experience boutique wineries, mountain hospitality, handmade empanadas, olive oil tastings, gaucho traditions, and a traditional Argentine asado in the mountains.
This is Argentina through food, wine, culture, landscapes, and real local connection — the kind of journey that stays with you long after you return home.

Daily Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Buenos Aires!
Sunday, March 7th
Upon landing in Buenos Aires, you’ll be welcomed privately and transferred to our hotel in Recoleta, one of the city’s most elegant neighborhoods. After time to freshen up, we begin exploring the many layers of the capital: street art, and football culture of La Boca, and the colonial charm of San Telmo. As evening settles in, we visit a local milonga for a first taste of tango culture before returning to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

Day 2: History & Tango
Monday, March 8th
After a relaxed breakfast, we set out on foot through Recoleta and Retiro, two of Buenos Aires’ most elegant neighborhoods. We’ll explore leafy avenues, grand palaces, historic landmarks, and the remarkable Recoleta Cemetery. In the evening, we return to San Telmo for dinner before walking next door to El Viejo Almacén, one of the city’s most iconic tango houses. With live music, singers, and exceptional dancers, this performance captures the soul of Buenos Aires.

Day 3: Cafés, Corners & Palermo Spirit
Tuesday, March 9th
We begin the day exploring the neighborhoods where young chefs and street artists are reshaping the city’s traditions. From a contemporary bakery and historic gelato shop to a neo-bodegón serving inventive takes on classic Argentine dishes, this is a delicious look at the city’s modern food scene. Along the way, we’ll discover Villa Crespo, its flea market, colorful murals, and the lively surroundings of Plaza Serrano. The afternoon is free to enjoy Buenos Aires at your own pace before gathering again for dinner at a Michelin Restaurant.

Day 4: Deep Into the North: Arrival in Jujuy
Wednesday, March 10th
We leave Buenos Aires early for our flight to Jujuy, arriving at the foot of the Andes in Argentina’s dramatic northwest. Here, the landscape changes completely — green valleys, colored mountains, deep canyons, and much more! Upon arrival, we drive north into the mountains, stopping for lunch at a small winery set where the scenery shifts from lush valley to painted hills. After checking in to our boutique hotel, there is time to rest before an afternoon walk through the Andean town and a local dinner.

Day 5: Echoes of the Andes
Thursday, March 11th
Few places feel as soulful as the Quebrada de Humahuaca, and today we spend time discovering why it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Villages of adobe homes, women selling handmade textiles, mountains brushed with impossible colors – it is a place where old traditions still shape daily life. We’ll also enjoy a private culinary experience highlighting ingredients and techniques born from altitude, climate, and generations of knowledge.

Day 6: From Seven Colours to Endless White
Friday, March 12th
We begin in Purmamarca, one of the most charming villages in the Andes, resting beneath the famous Seven Colours Hill. After time to explore its artisan market, we climb the dramatic Lipán Pass, one of northern Argentina’s great mountain drives. Then the landscape opens into something surreal: Salinas Grandes, a vast white salt desert stretching to the horizon. Here, we enjoy lunch in the middle of this extraordinary scene before returning for a festive northern farewell dinner.

Day 7: Graceful Arrival in Mendoza
Saturday, March 13th
After a relaxed breakfast, set out on a short walk to learn about Andean camelids. Share a ceremony for Pachamama and learn how Andean traditions have merged with modern day beliefs. Fly to the city of Mendoza and set beneath the Andes. After arriving, we settle into our vineyard hotel, where gardens and mountain views surround us. This evening, we enjoy a relaxed dinner and begin our time in one of the great wine capitals of the world.

Day 8: Harvests, Cellars & Long Tables
Sunday, March 14th
Mendoza is best experienced through the people who make its wines, and today we visit boutique wineries where passion and craftsmanship define every bottle. We’ll taste thoughtfully, learn directly from producers, and enjoy the kind of long vineyard lunch that reminds us why food and wine belong together. Return to the hotel to relax by the pool before end with another memorable dinner at one of the region’s standout estates.

Day 9: Into Gaucho Country & the Art of Asado
Monday, March 15th
For our final full day, we head into the mountains for one of the most deeply Argentine experiences of the journey. In a beautiful rural setting, we’ll learn to prepare regional empanadas, taste local olive oils, and step into the traditions of gaucho life. The heart of the day is a traditional Argentine asado – slow, generous, and meant to be shared. Surrounded by open landscapes and the grandeur of the Andes, we gather around the table for a final celebration.

Day 10: Journey Home, Richer Than Before!
Tuesday, March 16th
A final peaceful morning in Mendoza invites one last coffee, one last mountain view, and a moment to reflect on all we’ve experienced together. Depending on departure times, we may enjoy a relaxed brunch before heading to the airport for connections onward via Buenos Aires.
